Purchasing Supervisor
Team JAS is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchasing or supply chain professional who enjoys leading a team, building supplier relationships, and keeping operations moving. The ideal candidate brings strong negotiation skills, aviation parts knowledge, and experience guiding others while managing purchasing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Our Jacksonville operation includes an FAA- and EASA-certified repair station, FAA-PMA manufacturing capabilities, inventory and logistics operations, and specialized support for regional and utility aircraft.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to Purchasing Administrators, including regular check-ins and cross-training.
Balance purchasing, sourcing, requests for quotation (RFQs), expediting, and supplier follow-up assignments across the team.
Oversee purchase order accuracy, documentation, approvals, and timely processing of internal purchasing requests.
Monitor open purchase orders, supplier acknowledgments, delivery commitments, and past-due orders to support customer delivery and uninterrupted material flow.
Communicate purchasing status and supplier feedback to Sales, MRO, Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounting, and other internal teams.
Support supplier identification, evaluation, development, and relationship management.
Assist with negotiations involving pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and purchasing terms within established authority.
Monitor supplier performance and coordinate resolution of returns, rejections, and other supplier quality issues.
Maintain compliance with aviation requirements, the Company Quality System, approved-vendor controls, ASA-100 supplier requirements, and procurement procedures.
Oversee new vendor setup and approved-vendor records within the ERP system.
Monitor inventory requirements, Min/Max levels, replenishment priorities, and supply risks.
Review purchasing and supplier performance data to improve responsiveness, on-time delivery, workload distribution, and cost efficiency.
Recommend improvements to purchasing workflows, reporting, ERP use, and departmental controls.
Escalate significant supplier, cost, quality, delivery, and inventory concerns to the Purchasing Manager with recommended actions.
Support departmental initiatives involving sourcing, inventory, cost savings, and process automation.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of three years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, or an associate’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
Prior supervisory, team lead, coaching, or mentoring experience within purchasing or supply chain.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate daily work, manage competing priorities, and guide team members.
Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of aviation regulations, standards, and purchasing practices.
Familiarity with aviation parts and materials, including OEM sourcing and aftermarket suppliers.
Proficiency with procurement software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work with urgency, remain organized under pressure, and follow through on time-sensitive requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aviation, manufacturing, MRO, or a production environment.
Experience with ERP systems, preferably Quantum Control.
Procurement, inventory management, or contract management coursework.
Relevant certifications such as CPP, CSCP, CPIM, or CPSM.

Work Environment
