About the Position
The Director of Quality at Team JAS, Inc. will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across all operations. This leader will oversee the FAA 145 Repair Station ISO 9001/AS9120 programs, driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Director will ensure regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency, positioning Team JAS as a trusted leader in the aviation aftermarket industry.
Primary Responsibilities
The ideal candidate for the Director of Quality role at Team JAS, Inc. is a seasoned leader with a strong background in FAA 145 Repair Station requirements and regulatory compliance. They bring significant experience in managing quality systems within an FAA-regulated MRO environment, ensuring adherence to all necessary standards for maintenance, repair, and alterations. The candidate should be proficient in preparing for and managing FAA audits, as well as implementing effective quality control processes and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
This individual is an excellent communicator and collaborator, able to lead a team while aligning quality efforts with operational goals. They are knowledgeable in ISO 9001/AS9120 standards and have a proven ability to ensure that quality systems meet both regulatory requirements and customer expectations. They will have a passion for aviation, quality, and compliance, and a commitment to creating a culture that prioritizes safety, regulatory adherence, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the Repair Station Quality Manual.
- Oversee all aspects of the FAA 145 Repair Station Quality Program, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Manage the ASA100 certification program, including audits, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
- Develop and maintain quality standards, policies, and procedures to ensure the highest level of compliance and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Warehouse departments to ensure quality objectives align with operational goals.
- Investigate and resolve customer concerns related to product quality and service, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
- Monitor and report on quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Drive initiatives for process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements within the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Support training programs to ensure staff understanding of quality requirements and best practices.
- Create and maintain the Team JAS Safety Management System (SMS) program, ensuring its effective implementation and ongoing compliance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Certifications: FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or similar credentials preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and AS9120.
- Familiarity with Quantum Control ERP system is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality metrics and drive data-driven decisions.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and influence organizational change.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
